Description: This course provides a specific treatment of medical imaging tools and techniques as they apply to problems in commercial, clinical and research settings.  The course builds on image processing, machine learning, and software engineering topics.  It seeks to provide broad exposure to common tools, and provide experience in applying them to contemporary problem settings.

  • high performance multi-threaded algorithm development (C++, ITK)
  • rapid prototyping and analysis pipeline building (SimpleITK, nipype, ipython notebooks)
  • Statistical analysis (R)
  • Machine learning tools (R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
  • Reproducible science tools (R, python, git, bash)

NOTE: pre-requisites do not apply to graduate students.  Undergraduate students with image processing experience can request a waiver.
